"What makes Late Night such an unexpected and deliciou treat is that it does work - and quite wonderfully too."
-Mathew Bond, The Mail On Sunday

"Kaling is very good at conveying the paradoxical misty-eyed idealism of those working for this long-running TV institution.”
- Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian

"Thompson is acidly hilarious as the only female host on late-night. When she brings in Mindy Kaling to diversify her all-white-dude writing staff, the two stars toss the verbal grenades in Kaling's woke script like virtuosos.”
- Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

"Mindy Kaling makes vicious observations about the inanity, narcissism and corruption of the mainstream US media at the same time as she celebrates the professionalism of many of those who work within it."
-Geoffrey Macnab, Independent

"Thompson and Kaling make a delicious odd couple. Good night and good luck to them both."
-Charlotte O'Sullivan, London Evening Standard

Late Night is the story of Catherine (Emma Thompson on acidly winning form), a TV host in desperate need to stay relevant. Cynically hiring Molly (Mindy Kaling, The Mindy Project, Ocean's 8), she thrusts her into the all-male writers' room. But Molly is looking to make more than surface changes.

Along with consistent laughs come deeper questions about sexism and diversity in the entertainment industry. Kaling's script has the sharpness of lived experience, as well as the comic chops to make the stand up segments sing.

With a sprinkling of The Devil Wears Prada, Late Night mixes great chemistry with a forward-looking take on complex issues.
